Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy is soliciting citizen feedback on “any aspect of Federal transportation infrastructure policy to inform the surface transportation reauthorization process.” Every American is invited to share their thoughts on what the U.S. Department of Transportation should make a federal priority in the next bill.
Secretary Duffy believes that Congress and the U.S. DOT should NOT be funding bicycle infrastructure.

“At the expense of vehicles”…what is a bike if not a vehicle?
This idiot isn’t going to listen to anyone
BIKES ARE VEHICLES YOU ABSOLUTE BELLEND
Reality tv star and competitive lumberjack hack
Sean Duffy can gargle my ballz
I’m not seeing anything about this when I google for it. Why the August 20th deadline? Why does this website look so fishy?
Is it the Department of Transportation or the Department of Motor Vehicles?
After the new administration came in, I told my local bike advocacy group that at some point, federal transportation dollars are going to be conditioned on removing existing bike infrastructure. Nothing’s happened yet to disabuse me of this prediction
Ugh, I’d say it were unbelievable, but at this point— it’s almost expected. Bicycles have absolutely no place in the MAGA worldview. Just huge SUVs and brodozers mowing everything down.

Just don’t use the climate emergency as a reason, this lot don’t believe in all that.
How far the US has fallen, hope you guys can restore it one day.
While I disagree….
1. States shouldn’t rely on the feds for money for bike infrastructure. It makes the process take too long.
2. Cities shouldn’t rely on states for money for bike infrastructure. It makes the process take too long.
3. Bike infrastructure can be funded at the local level because of how much cheaper it is than any other kind of infrastructure
I will fix that for him. “It’s a problem when we make a massive investment in vehicle infrastructure when smaller investments in bike infrastructure would be so much more useful”
While you should make your voice known, this chud isn’t going to listen. I suggest a revolution instead petitions.
Its not like he cares about redditors
Why are these guys so deeply stupid? Bike infrastructure is so cheap compared to car infrastructure… and it actually gets the bikes out of the way of your dumbass motorcade??? It’s FAR cheaper than federal transit subsidies, reduces congestion, provides freedom for children, makes people healthier, literally pulls people uphill by their bootstraps?? It’s the opposite of lazypantswimpyness. Yet conservatives are always such bitches about it??
This has been the most impactful election in our country since Lincoln.
Everything great about America is being systematically dismantled.
Because of course he does.
Make America Even More Awful
How about a transportation system that works for everyone, not just for cars? If the DoT keeps doubling down on lane-widening, all we can expect are the same miserable results.
There is another way, invest in fast, reliable transit; build safe cycling and walking routes, this gives a lot of people a real choice and makes driving easier for those who really need it.
That’s the future I want, our federal government needs to share this vision.
This is BS. Bike commuting is life-changing. Perhaps this guy never learned how to ride a bike.
Adding a bike lane to an existing road costs [between $5,000 and $50,000](https://www.norteyouthcycling.org/news/bike-lanes-cost-less-than-you-think) per mile.
[roads](https://www.strongtowns.org/journal/2020/1/27/how-much-does-a-mile-of-road-actually-cost) can cost millions of dollars per lane-mile. For instance, even just resurfacing a small urban arterial can cost $1.491 million per lane-mile.
Sure they’re aren’t any connections between this administration and automakers and/or oil companies.
Thanks Republican Bike Commuters. You wanted to burn it all down because you’re afraid someone was gonna ask you to use pronouns.
Well, you got your wish.
It’s a problem when we’re making massive investments in car lanes at the expense of trains, bikes, and other modes that are far more efficient and cost-effective.
OP is just collecting personal information. The only way to make a change is through election. Reach out to your representatives and make your voice heard. Don’t elect pedophiles.

Next up: the feds will stop all train/transit funding. Republicans: f*** those people that don’t own a car.
At the expense of vehicles
One thing we do in this country REALLY well is kill bikers and pedestrians. It’s because roads in the country are designed for maximum car throughput with little thought given to pedestrian safety. We’re WAY WAY behind, long past due for investing more in promoting foot traffic, bike traffic, and forcing automobiles to slow the fuck down and force the driver to pay more attention to what’s going on everywhere around them in addition to the road.
Fuck Duffy, unqualified dipshit…
The US has added 40% more cars to the road in the last 30 years and all these clowns think “we just need to squish them in harder and it’ll work.”
Bastards!
I hate the GOP so much.
How about no socialism for cars and drivers? I thought Republicans don’t like socialism.
Would they prefer more bikes taking the car lanes?
This man is a jack ass

WHY DO WE HAVE TO KEEP FIGHTING FOR COMMON THINGS IN THE COUNTRY?! I am so tired of needing to be political! What is Sean Duffys phone number?! I need to speak with him. He clearly has no idea what he is doing!
This just in: Sean Duffy is a little bitch
Don’t spend time and energy on responses that are based in rational thinking and logical policy. This has nothing to do with what he’s saying; it is all part of a petroleum industry promotion, and the content of what’s being said is just cover.
