I look at this new collection and wonder: Is PNS focus shifting away from peloton and performance to runway and full on fashion?

PNS just released their new Off Race collection which looks amazing in terms of looking but it’s not cycling off race clothing anymore. That in itself isn’t new, but it feels like they’re leaning harder than ever into fashion instead of performance.

Where they at a crossroad between going full-on performance (sponsoring a pro team at the Tour) or going deeper into the gorpcore /running /fashion scene? There’s a running line dropping later this year.

I think lifestyle gear has its place. But does this dilute the performance side? The durability of products? The performance element of cycling wear?

Curious where others land on this. Natural progression of the brand, a distraction that risks alienating their core cycling audience, o just a way to make more money off the brand cachet they’ve built?

  1. They’re just diversifying, doubt it’ll alienate their core. In fact it may bring more people to cycling if the off-bike ranges are a hit, which isn’t a bad thing for the sport.

PNS has always been a first lifestyle brand then performance.

I mean, Hoodie for 220 Euros? Seriously? It just kinda proves that 400-500 Euros on PNS cycling kit isn’t just for pure performance (well, everyone knows this by now anyway).

Personal taste but looks horrible. They look like homeless hikers. Who can honestly say they think this looks amazing? Fr…..

  4. I don’t think moving towards more of a lifestyle or even fashion market while using proper production methods and materials diminshes the quality and durability of their cycling gear. That could very well go hand in hand.

That being said, PNS is a luxury cycling fashion brand that do not spend their time in wind tunnels etc.
of course this is on my own account, but I don’t think they have the R&D of pro tour kit providers

  5. Always has been a fashion brand, you’d be crazy not to see it.

They’ve gone into every current fashion trend for their clothing
