I know it’s a Diamondback. I picked this up from a buddy. I’ve only ever owned mountain bikes so I don’t know what this is and if it’s worth anything or a good brand. Thanks!

That’s a cyclocross bike
Define “good”. It’s good for some purposes, not so good for others.
I googled the visible words on the frame “diamondback cx Steilacoom” and it appears that it’s a 2013 model and was about $1400 new a decade ago.
If it fits you well then it can be a good ride. These old consumer CX bikes are kind of like proto-gravel bikes. A bit more of an aggressive riding position, and canti brakes rather than discs, but if you can get comfortable on it you can do a lot of the same riding on them.
