They’re guy lines for additional support in case of high wind. Just leave them there unless you really need them.
You can attach them to the ground so if there’s heavy wind your tent will stay in place
To add to what others have said, they’re guy lines for high winds. They help keep the tent to the ground, but more importantly, they pull the rain tarp off the pole system to avoid the wind bending the poles
