I don't understand why my Merritt pass through fork cap isn't working in my S&M widemouth pitchforks both seem to be M24 x P1.5 the Merritt caps threads dont even get started before it begins to bind.

The cap that came with the forks threads in just fine and the Merritt cap. I’ve inspected the threads, and nothing is damaged.
The answer ultimately is, one of the forks is a different thread regardless what specs are said.
Might want to reach out (call) either merrit or a and m at this point
Does merrit make a m25 fork bolt?
Merrit bolt may be defective .contact meritt .I picked up a m24 tap on Amazon to clean up the threads on my fast pitch forks I have on my Sunday street sweeper.
