  1. Like just girls could cry…Believe me,mens also cry after long effort suffer, they hyde their tears in public, but some mens can't and it's ok to cry. It's life…

  2. The crowd cheers the first ones, and even more so the later ones. "You're almost there! It's almost over!" all along the climb. 18 kms…

  3. Show that on the coverage. Show the actual emotion and drama and this sport will never look back.

And cut out all the hyperbolic claims in the coverage. Not every ride is the greatest ride of all time. I just want to see hard working people giving it their all.

  4. What non cyclists don’t understand is you can’t stop or ease up on these climbs. Unlike running where you can slow down or walk. In cycling, you’re locked into a torture device and the only way to make it stop is to get to the end. You have to push watts just to roll forward on steep sections and it’s pure agony. Chapeau to these cyclists for an amazing race.

  5. They seem ready for some more.

The beginning of a real challenge is always tough and hurts in one way or another.

But it'll become a habit to them. It did to me as a teen, now 40 years later I can't slip going over my bounderies and tresholds in each and every training. When you meet Dr. Death every single day and you fathom that you'd actually survive, your life become longer and more healthy in every way.

That goes for pros as well. Women pro cycling is still long way to have standards as men, missing real support sometimes radio communication, greater deal comes from other sports, not knowing how to maneuvre a bike.

To see these top names flinch and so many of them. No, in 40 years of extreme sports I have not seen the same amount of men do anything similar. Of course a few once in a while. And this is not even a La Marmotte challenge, which I have participated in for 30 years for exercisers too. It is not because women can't hijack pain. They give birth, for example. Far worse pain.

But countries as The Netherlands, France, Denmark are forming a healthy base for young female talents in the midst, but still a long way to go.

But I support women cycling. Startet watching track & road cycling back in late 1970ies and to me more cycling is just more enjoyable. Women cycling is sometimes like watcing a B-license race, but often very good TV.
