Tade Pogachar’s 2025 season has been nothing short of staggering, but you won’t see him lining up at the 2025 Valta Spa. After months of speculation, UAE team Emirates confirmed their Slovenian superstar will skip Spain’s grand tour to rest and recharge after one of the most demanding campaigns of his career. Tatt Pagachar’s run began back in February at his team’s home race, the UAE Tour. He won that. Then went to a series of one-day races. Stratabianke won. Milano Sanremo tried but podium. Race after race after race. Flanders victory again. Perry rubé podium. Leaz victory. A big run of one day classics. Rest reset. Then the criterium dudane victory. Then the tour to France. Fourth tour to France victory. It’s the kind of resume most writers would dream of over a career. But Pulachar has had it in just one season. And while he’s not racing the Walt Espña, you can catch all the action, all 21 stages live and on demand on Flow Bikes for our viewers in Canada. So even without Pagachar, the drama is set to unfold. Team manager Mo Gianetti told cycling news that this decision was about more than just physical fatigue. Being Tad Pagacha is nice, but it’s not easy. He explained, “He’s under a lot of pressure when he races. Everybody expects him to be strong, to win, to put on a show. It’s important to give him enough physical and mental rest so he can enjoy himself and provide entertainment as he’s always done.” Giannetti also pointed out Tatt Pogachar’s spring campaign which included Perry Bay for the first time as more demanding than people might think. He added, “Doing all the spring classics is tougher than doing a grand tour,” he said, highlighting the consistent changes in terrain, weather, and competition. Tad Pagota himself, speaking with Slovenian media, said he’s counting down the years until retirement. “We don’t want him to quit. maybe some of his competitors do. He added, “He’s savoring each race that he does. I have to enjoy the moment. I have to be prepared to stop, say thank you, and say goodbye to racing at the highest level.” He said, “Every rider can have a bad day. You can’t expect me to smile for all 21 stages of the tour. This year’s tour was one of the hardest I’ve ridden, but now I’m rested, reset, and ready for new battles. That reset begins with a return to racing in September for the GP Quebec and Montreal in Canada. The World Championships in Rwanda, then Il Lombardia where he’s won every edition since 2021. And don’t you worry, he’s sure to line up in some more editions of the Tour to France before he leaves cycling. So, what about the Valta? UAE team Emirates won’t come in underpowered for sure. It’ll be led by Portuguese writer Xiaameda and Spaniard Wanayuso, both with unfinished business in 2025. Almeida crashed out the tour to France while Ausso abandoned the Giodalia with injuries and illness. Both are motivated, both have podium potential, and both will be up against Yonas Vinga, now the clear favorite for the red jersey. You can catch every twist and turn over the 21 days of the Walt Easpa live and on demand for our viewers in Canada on Flow Bikes. They’ll be racing all through the north of Spain. But attention because this year’s race, if you booked your tickets for Spain to San Sebastian or Leon or Madrid, you made a mistake. This year’s race starts in Torino on the 23rd of August. Jonas Vingagal the clear favorite, but we have other stars lining up that’ll be competing for stage wins like Tom Pitcock and Mads Patterson. Make sure you’re subscribed. Click that button down below because I’ll be there on the ground from Torino all the way until the finish in Madrid with numerous summit finishes, that serious time trial there, second or third last stage and a lot of action in between. I’ll have vlogs, post-race reports, and all sorts of news as the race carries on over three weeks. And if you’re looking to watch the World Championships where Tatty Pagota will be defending his rainbow jersey that he won in Zurich, Switzerland, well, we have that live and on demand for our viewers in the United States and Canada. Pagotch may be setting this one out, but his story is far from over. From Canada to Lombardia and into 2026, he remains one of the sports biggest stars. The Volt Espña will be going on over the next three weeks, but for sure all eyes will be on what happens next with Tad Pagotchar.

I love Pogi from 2020, I love his way of racing, his positivity and enthusiastic way of facing races. And it s pretty clear he s one of the greatest of all times..But this story of retire is starting to piss me..he has a contract until 2030 and should honour it till 2030…most of people work 345 days a year for 1000 € a month..to be optimistic…so please stop threatening retire and keep on pushing at least until 2030 even for respect for fans and people following him all over the world
Stop creating drama with those fake news and start making some actual new and real content.
He deserves to rest
Unpopular opinion: Vingegaard would've won vuelta regardless of tadej participating or not
He is not tired. Tired is euphemism for BORED. For all the losers out there that got bored of Tadej winning, all the losers that never raced a single day of their lives, i hope you all enjoy The Vuelta.
he's done 2 GT's in a single season only once, the Giro Tour double in '24.
watch michel storer interview that will tell you a lot. also dude likes 1 day races. another thing is that team is loaded with telent and it won't get easier (mcnulty just won tour of poland, torito just won burgos, there is pablo torres, juan ayuso, almeida) you gotta make the others happy. go watch him live in quebec and montreal if you are in canada.
Full classics plus the Dauphine TDF double means this is no surprise
