I'm sure it's a cheap bike, but I'm super curious what it is. I bought it used for $25 as a kid back in 2010… and I've never really questioned what kind of bike it was until just recently. I've let lot's of bikes go through the years but this one I hang onto. Just because it was the first one I bought with my own money.
It had a red spray can paint job when I bought it. It's an aluminum frame but I wouldn't call it light. Wheels and handle bars came with it and I don't know if they're original. I've changed tires, sprockets, and paint jobs over the years. Just leaving it bare right now. The rear dropouts are pretty distinctive, and I've never really seen others like it.
Any idea what this started life as? Thanks!

That seems like a shit load of spokes to my untrained eye. I guess makes up for the radial lace? How’s that working out for you?
Do you always ride with no seat?
no idea but the first thing i thought about were those nirve choppers. did nirve make bmx’s at some point perhaps? it would explain the wheels as well
You’ve been riding seatless (ouch goochie) for 14 years.
It’s just some cheap department store bike. But it sounds like it’s been fine to get you around.
Is there a serial number under the BB?
The sprocket is worth more than the whole bike
Gosh. That frame reminds me of of a late 90’s Specialized bike. Like the Cory Nastazio one.. or something similar
Looks like it’s got Haro Mirra Pro bars. Does it have the haro Chevron stamped into the ends of the bottom tube?
It’s an old Mongoose Rebel.
Judging by the shape of the tubes, I’d check the body for a nautical star stamp that tells you if it’s a Schwinn
