yo Jal should I get a high flow cat or a cat belite well I guess it depends cuz each have their pros and cons a high flow cat is that it’s a more efficient catalytic converter as it does keep elements of a catalytic converter but it just allows the exhaust to flow a little more freely you get performance gains get a better sound out of your exhaust and you don’t really have to worry about a check engine light and smog depending on which state you live in should be a little bit easier to pass with it now capad on the other hand you’re just removing everything there’s nothing it’s a straight pipe it’s going to be the loudest going to see the most performance gains out of it but some people don’t like the noise that comes with it and not to mention it’s more than likely going to throw a check engine light you have to tune out and probably not going to pass smog with it

im about to swap my cat back to oem on my E82 tomorrow. the smell is driving me nuts!! but i love the sound. and im also switching because last time it made my date noxious
My catless crv makes the garage a freaking gas chamber π
It's also a federal crime to do a cat delete unless you're only driving it on a closed course (race track, drag, etc.) You have to put it on a trailer.
Cat always cause I want my grandkids to have a world to live in
Reminder that high flow cats often do not capture toxic carbon emissions like a OEM cat would. They are often scams and will not allow you to pass smog.
Cat delete is only for tracked racecars, it is not legal to have them on your car.
Every blogger talks the same
No smog in my state πππ
You can have a high flow, no cat, exhaust running E85 and still pass.
Donβt forget the price difference, which for my car is double for a high flow cat.
High flow cat is the answer 97% of the time.
Catless isn't as fun as you think, it doesn't sound as good as you think it does, and it smells infinitely worse than you imagine.
No there is really no reason to go full catless. It's just ignorant because that's stinky AF
I had my Rx8 cat deleet and no stink ππππ
Highflow cat still smells btw
High flow cat everyday.
If you are going the careless route donβt be an idiot and just knock out the center material of a stock catalytic converter, get an actual straight pipe that takes the place of the cat. Hollowed out catalytic converters flow worse than straight pipes due to the turbulence that happens inside the now hollowed out cat. You lose power as compared to having the cat in place and functional and it sounds like ass on top of it.
Smog?? Tf is that? π
Forget cats get dogs
I sure am glad I don't live in a socialist state. I can almost do whatever I want to my vehiclesπ
If you have emissions testing in your state theres a zero percent chance to pass with the highflow cat lol
did a catless downpipe on my gti and swapped to a highflow after 6 months anytime I was stopped the aircon would blow that awful exhaust smell into the car. also I think the high flow sounds a bit better removes some of the tinniness and rasp compared to a cat delete
I imagine its not possible to keep it under legal noise thresholds with a straight pipe? Hahahahaha
bro thinks we care abt smog lol.
Ima go with a 400 cell high flow cat. Mainly for legal reasons but also for keeping the smell away
The smell of catless while on e85 on a warm summer night is just perfect
Is he still on donut?
1. Don't live in a Commie state with illegal smog mandates
2. You can delete the cat and still run resonators and mufflers – this guy is a clown acting like a cat delete is an everything delete open header dump.
Even a straight pipe can be acceptable levels of noise done right
Im not sure why people are talking about the smell, never had an issue with a bad smell out of my catless downpipes
I had a straight piped mustang with longtubes. Iβm doing high flow cats and electric cut outs next time
Delete. Always Delete.
all yall saying the smell is bad with a cat delete are insane, yes it makes the car smell like exhaust but with a proper tune, exhaust smells good, obvi if youre running insanely rich then itll smell like death tho
The cat(s) also keep some pretty gnarly chemicals at bay as well. Like in a "if you're exposed to this for an extended period of time you're going to have cancer" kind of way.
I ran catless years ago. My laundry room was in my garage. My clothes permanently smelled like the fumes, even long after I sold the car.
Plus at this point in time the performance gains are negligible between the two. You're freeing up >10whp going catless. People only still do it because it's cheap.
I've got a high flow cat, was convinced by my mechanic to not go catless on my yote mustang because it would stink alot, I kinda wanted to do flames and bs like that but reading the comments maybe I did the right decision not going catless
The smell is terrible
Personally I went from having three catalytic converters to having one high flow cat and straight pipe the rest, on my v6. Doesn't really smell unless im idling in a place for a long time (even then dont even smell it unless i open the door) it's loud and aggressive. Im adding a resonator now reduce drone and rasp.
I just hate my supercharged vx v6 commodore gutted cats as you can hear how hollow it is and itβs tiny as shit
Catless all the way
Cat delete sucks. It gets old fast.
Do I need to tune my 2019+ Charger RT with mid muffler, rear resonator, and active exhaust delete if I go with HFC?
Put a spacer if you dont want a CEL or tune it
Its ok i live in texas π
And it'll fuck the environment
Please like this to remind me Β‘
I personally have seen name brand high flow cats blow up internally. You dont have to worry about that with a catless. But there's definitely pros and cons to both
You can try the best of both worlds with #GSportbyGESi – performance without compromise π
I daily drove my catless Mustang for like 2 months and went back to stock itβs not worth the headaches I get each time I drive it..
Soooooo delete the cats
What's a good hi-flo cat for a C8 Corvette and still pass smog/emission test?
A real pro would tell you your exhaust will now stink, and it will also drone really bad in most applications.
