I am a grade 12 student and I started biking to school everyday. Today on my way home, I got honked at, crossing a turn lane via a marked bike lane ( not to visible in the google street view image I attached ) I definitely didn’t completely cut off this car as 1. I side checked before turning and 2. The horn came moments before I entered the lane by the intersection.
At another intersection i have to go through is under roadworks, signage posted telling bikes and cars to share a lane single file. This shouldn’t be an issue as I can keep up with the slower flow of traffic through the pylons. A few days before todays incident , I was going through this intersection when the light turned yellow. I stopped as required by local law which states “A yellow – or amber – light means the red light is about to appear. You must stop if you can do so safely” so I slow down and stop just as the light runs red. The car behinds me, for some reason, desires to go around me (after stopping) and blows the red light. As this happens I over hear a construction worker near by tell his co worker “that biker almost caused an accident.”
Am I at fault here?
Sorry for grammar / formatting, I’m on mobile.

Maybe just wait at the end of the bike lane and when it is clear you can cross the turn lane
You are correct, that is how it’s intended to be navigated.
Always shoulder check, signal, and show your intent to take the lane. Be safe out there.
That looks like a stroad. Very hard for new bike commuters to feel safe on a stroad as it encourages highway speeds despite speed limits.
That whole bike lane needs to be painted green so drivers know they are crossing the bike lane to make that turn.
Talk to your city officials. Tell them green paint is cheap and effective way to save lives. Share with them your personal experience. Ask for something to be done.
