Rode across some not very decent gravel roads on my recent bike trip. Upon return found a corner of my multitool peeking out of the hole it made in the bag from all the bumps and the corresponding dent on the frame, probably 0.44mm deep in the deepest place.

I assume the bike is safe to ride (it is a touring bike, not an MTB jumper), but are aluminium frames really so easy to dent? This is my first one.

    That’s wild. Seems unlikely, but noted to add off frame securement to the inside of bags for heavier tools.

    Yeah it dents pretty easy. but as long as nothing is folded they are usually fine structurally. Huge advantage over carbon
