    No, the portion at the bottom contains a wedge which is required for the whole thing to work.

    check the wedge with a protractor but 36° is (i think?) a widely used standard. cut it down if you’re crafty or find a shorter adapter (easier option)

  3. Keep in mind that cutting the shaft of the adapter too short will mean you can no longer use the central bolt because you’ll run out of threads.

    A shorter adapter is an easier solution.
