Evening all, after owning my new bike now for just over a month, I’ve decided to show off some of the upgrades I’ve added to the bike.

First off was the pedals. I’ve opted to swap the standard pedals for some Rockbros pedals sourced from Amazon. Amazing how a small swap can dramatically improve the feeling of the bike.

Second but not very exciting I’ve added the front and rear lights, again off Amazon. Since I do mostly leisure riding in the week and with the dark nights soon approaching here in the Uk I figured this would be a sensible but cheap addition.

Thirdly and the most costly mod, I’ve swapped the standard Suntour coil spring forks for some RockShox Judy airforks. I much prefer the feel of the air forks as opposed to the clunky feel of the coil spring forks. Both travel 100mm so no difference there however 100mm is enough for me as I mostly ride tarmac with a few cross country trails thrown in a few weekends a month.

Currently debating whether a dropper would be beneficial to me, along with some faster rolling tyres from either shwalbe or Maxxis if anybody has any recommendations on these for the riding I do. I am however happy to stick with the Bontragers for now.

Generally speaking Bontrager tires are trash and one of the first things people change. The choices are endless with either faster rolling for tarmac or knobbier grip for trail.
