Planned on doing the conversion after buying tape and procrastinating forever. Got the tire off and to my surprise it’s already taped. Wish I didn’t waste money on the tape now
This is rim tape, and yes, they often come pre taped. Weather it’s done well or not is another story. My last two factory tape jobs went well but you hear about them not going so hot

Stock tubeless tape is hit or miss. I end up re-taping new wheels about half the time.

Yes that’s rim tape and looks good to me, I’d set it up tubeless with that and assume it will hold.

Throw on a tire & a valve. Air it up (no sealant) until it’s on the bead. Fill the tire to max PSI. Leave it overnight, check in the morning how many PSI you lost.
A couple of PSI is no big deal. But if it’s totally flat, you would probably be better off retaping.

Looks like Stan’s tubeless tape, should be good to go
