I got a few questions asking about cycling for 32 days down the Irish coast (see last pic for route) so here we are…
About 2000km in total with me and 2 friends and being 21 and the weather being very very wet meant we slept in some stupid places.
Pic 2: changing rooms of a Gaelic football pitch (its an Irish sport, very cool, would recommend looking it up). I slept in that room by myself and woke up at 6.30 to sound of footsteps right beside my tent as I realised someone was in the room with me. Heard the quietly laugh and then left. Little creepy but pretty funny.
Pic 7&8: It has been so wet for the previous few days that even inside the tent and sleeping bags were wet and we were desperate for somewhere dry. We came across this huge abandoned apartment complex (100+ 3 room apartments) so we decided to sleep there. We got the top floor directly overlooking the river which was very cool but it was a “wear all your clothes and curl up in a ball to keep warm” sort of night.
Other notable places we stayed was a priests garden, a random drunk guys sofa, and ancient urn burial site, castle ruins, beaches, 2 nights under some Gaelic football stands as well a bunch more just sleeping on pitches or in the changing rooms if left unlocked.
And beamish all the way ; )
Amazing trip but I’m hooked baldly. January 2025 is when I head of my biggest adventure doing a year cycling from Mexico to Argentina solo.

Great pics!
I loved Ireland and was worried about wild camping but they seemed incredibly tolerant. I slept on numerous pitches (one they organised for the change rooms to be opened and hot water switched on in the morning for me!), a couple of beaches, next to a castle.
I popped into a pub one night in a bigger to ask if it was okay to put my tent up somewhere and had so much Guinness bought for me I was barely able to put it up!
