Bike shop took apart my bike to fix the cable routing that was causing noise, they replaced hydraulic oil as well but did not replace rotors/disk brakes as the bike is almost brand new (6 months or so). Bike brake (the front) is now “softer” and it takes a bit of a power to get the bike to fully stop. Do they need to be bedded in again?
Beside the brakes now being “softer” or “weaker” – ie. stopping distance is now different, there is this sound that the front disk makes when not pressed, like it’s scraping (or engaged) when I’m not pressing the brakes.
Any ideas?
I can’t/don’t want to go back to that shop as they don’t know how to fix the bike properly, so I’m wondering if it’s something “small” that I can do to make sure there is no scrapign OR to bring it in to another shop.

For the noise, check the axle is sitting correctly in the dropout. Stand the bike upright on its wheels, loosen the quick release lever, let the axle settle into the dropouts and tighten again. Wheel may be in on an angle causing the rotor to hit the pads on rotation.
As for a lack of power, the shop may have gotten brake fluid on the pads or rotors and contaminated them. Otherwise simple things like oil from fingers can cause this issue. Try a clean with some isopropyl alcohol and see if it helps.

You could try loosening the 2 screws which connect the break pads to your fork. Then you pull the break and you tighten the screws again. If you are lucky, that fixes the problem.

They have done a shit job. It needs a bleed again properly and they should have aligned the caliper and rotor afterwards. Take it back or take it elsewhere
