My first bike trip! I stayed over at red squirrel campsite in Glencoe and what should have taken around 7 hours to get there ended up being around 11 hours due to a road closure… I hope you enjoy it!
Hi everyone and welcome back. It is the night before my trip in the morning. I’m so excited, but I’m also quite nervous. So, this will be the longest trip that I’ve done on the bike so far. First of many, I hope. This is a temporary setup and the paners will be ordered soon. Good morning, everyone. It is 5 8 in the morning. I’m just about ahead and I’ve packed the bike up as securely as I possibly can. Um, I’m quite excited now. I’m more excited than nervous than what I was last night. Um, so I had to take a few bits out my bag just to get it in. Um, so I’m literally at bare minimum for this trip. Um, if you know me, you’ll know that if I’m going away for a week, I’ll take about two weeks worth of clothes. So, I think I’ve done really, really well. The cruise control is probably my little lifesaver on this trip. Okay, an update. I went to Sterling. Fantastic. Went through calendar. Um when I was in Sterling, I actually stopped and seen my uncle, which was really nice. I’ve not seen him for a while. Um then from there I’ve come to cran and from this point on the road is closed between here in Glen Cole. So I spent the last hour trying to decide on where I’m going which direction because it’s going to take me around 3 hours 3 three and a half hours between here and Glen Co. Now I have to go the opposite direction. So that’ll be towards and up the coast. It’s been absolute havoc here to be honest. People don’t know what to do because signals really really bad here as well. Um there’s been buses stuck on the corner, camper van trailers, and it’s just been complete havoc. So anyway, I’ve made a decision. I’m still going to head to the same campsite. Then hopefully it’s not too late when I get there. I think around 7. Yeah, 7:00 max. I haven’t actually eaten since this morning. I’m starving. I do have a sandwich in my bag, which I’m just going to eat later now. I’m just hoping to get there while it’s still daylight, get my tent up, and then yeah, see where I’m at. This is not what I was expecting, but we overcome the obstacles and we get on with it. So, wish me luck. We’ll do more. All supposed to take around 3 to three and 1 half hours actually took around 4 to 4 and 1/2 hours because of the sheer amount of traffic heading all in the same direction as well as road closures and traffic lights. So, as you can tell, this really did test my skill level and put me out my comfort zone if I’m being completely honest. um not being able to see around some corners and having to just uh go for it or rev as much as I can so that the person coming in the opposite direction. Well, hoping that they actually heard me coming Welcome to Paradise. Another That’s I thoroughly enjoyed the ride from open up to Gleno despite all that traffic. It was absolutely worth it on the other end. And the views were unreal. Every time I turned a corner, it was just something else. A different scenery. Absolutely beautiful. Hello. Sorry, I’m just looking at your bike. That is an excellent bike. How long have you had it for? I’ve only March then I got Yeah, I had some before but I had to get rid of it. But yeah, it’s pretty much What’s your thoughts on the on the T100 or the T120? Um, well, I was kind of swaying between both of them, but the reason I went for 120 was cuz the cruise control and a few other extras. Okay. I thought I’ve used it a couple of times from like here. So, yeah. Where have you come from today? Um, so I live in Newcastle now. All right. Okay. Did you come up that far to here? Yeah. Good old journey on it. Yeah, I know. Okay. I should be fine. I’ve only ever put this up like once on my own. So Oh, really? We’re We’re literally down there. Um it’s a dress. What’s our cap on one? Whatever. So if you need a hand, we can come and help. Awesome. Absolutely. That’s I’m just Yeah, I’m just blown away by your bike. No, I’m in the phase of considering dreaming about it, considering it. It’s probably couple years down the line, but uh Yeah. Yeah. I always say like just if anyone’s thinking about it, it’s amazing. That would be cool. Was it this that you had before? Was it T1 before? It was. Yeah, it was. And then I had um Yamaha X600 before and then I had like my 125 CF about six years. So yeah, considering what I want. I like Royal Enfields. Oh, they’re nice. Mostly because they’re a little bit cheaper, too. Yeah. But I want to try them out and just see what I end up liking to be honest. Yeah, you should see what the BSA have just released um some new bikes like scramler bikes and stuff. Might looking at them as well. actually cuz I know the T100s they’re 900cc, right? But what what’s the T what’s the T120? So they’re um 1200 1200 cc. That’s a lot of light. So it’s six gears that one. So you can definitely feel the power when you’re going up the gears. Feel it. I might look at it one more time before you leave. Are you sure you don’t? No, no, she’d be okay. Thanks. Unless you’re looking at me and going, “Oh my god, she’s in that completely wrong.” Like See you later. Take care. Okay. Hey everyone, I made it to Red Squirrel campsite in Gleno. It’s pretty awesome here. There was some plain bag pipes for about half an hour, which is pretty cool. Um, today was a lot. Um, I think I was riding for about 11 hours in total. So, yeah, finally I’ve eaten um since this morning. Um, feeling like I’ve actually got a bit more energy. But yeah, this is brilliant. I really like it here. I think I’ve actually stayed here once before. Um, the views are phenomenal. You can’t even get over how pretty that looks. Um, so tonight I’m going to probably have a really good sleep and then I’ll get up early. Um, so tomorrow morning I will be heading over to um, Glenford and Vot Island Dawn Castle and then heading up that way towards Sky. Fingers crossed that there’s no roads closed.

I love your spirit and enthusiasm- you’re loving life!
I’ve been looking at a Triumph Bonneville speed master 1200 for my next bike. Any thoughts? You must’ve considered one?
That's a creepy setup on your bike 😥!😎💙
Please do have in mind, everyone else are stupid drivers!!!
Nice video Lynn I camped there in the past and frequented the Clachaig Inn 👍
i would have loved to do that trip 🙂
Just came across your video Lynn 🤙 enjoyed that … grim traffic glad to see you just pushed to the front .. love it 😊 what’s with the bandana on the handlebar ? Gotta ask 🫣
Loved doing that route a few years ago don’t remember so much traffic though, next episode please 👍
Glad to see you managed to get your tent sorted. It looked like you were attempting to put the round square into the peg hole. Happy camping!
Hey that was a good old journey, well done that lass, bike performed as expected I presume, just steady as you go, take care
Ted NW biker dude,
Hi Lynn, long day riding, well done, looked a lovely camping area you had, safe riding 👍
changed days used to get that road to myself a few years ago
Top work, sister, that was some gnarly traffic. Well done getting that tent up after that journey. Some years back, we were delayed 10 hours with car/caravan/dog/young kids etc. Got to Glen Coe in the dark, late. Just got caravan legs down and bedded everyone down. Woke up next morning and went outside……family came out to see why I was stood still, chin on the floor. They looked around and just stood still, chins on the floor with swivel-heads on !!! The views around in every direction were like nowhere on earth. Even the air feels fresher than elsewhere. I hope you get a great sleep and wake to the same beautiful vistas, friend. Take care and have a great ride, sister. BTW………damn…..that is still a gorgeous machine; fair play to you !
Love your T120.The Duke’s pass at Aberfoyle and the road from Aberfoyle to the Inversnaid Hotel are nice runs.Did the three Lochs at Aberfoyle a couple of months ago just off the Duke’s Pass.
Hello Lynn , congratulations on starting up your channel . I wish you all the best with the Triumph and your adventures .The vlog is very enjoyable especially your accent , cheers from Australia !!!!
Hey Lynn. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your adventures. I live in Hinckley nr the Triumph factory. I have a Triumph tiger 955i which i did a 1380 mile trip around the NC500 route and back home last year. Did it in 2 1/2 days😅 Did Skye this year in the same couple of days. Loved it. I used to live nr Ayr so its great to get back up and see Scotland when I can. Especially on my bike 🤙👍
Love the bike and the minimalist packing , been looking how to do the same sort of thing , you did well with your filtering unlike those other bikes forcing there way through making oncoming vehicles brake by the look of it , not a way to endorse biking , good work , look forward to more of your travels 👍
Been riding Scotland since the sixties, every time I go back I’m exhausted with the state of the roads and traffic and that does not include the prices, good luck and stay safe🏴🇫🇷🥰
Stayed at Glencoe Ski Resort summer last year on my bike, great roads and very changeable weather 😂
That traffic sure looked hectic, but what a fantastic place to camp. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your adventure. Happy and safe riding.
This is reminding me of a lady biker called Charlie (Rest Day Rider) who did her first long trip to Scotland on her (I think) first bike. Lots of “what am I doing “ etc, but on that video we all watched the confidence of long camping trips grow. Have a great time and hope you enjoy it 😀
That was really good
All that you're missing is a Saltire flag on your bike.
Good work & enjoy your trip. 👍
You did well filtering up through there. I suspect that was the same road closure that derailed my journey south. took forever to get home.
Great content! Just a quick heads-up — there are a few SEO tweaks that could help this video reach a much wider audience. Small changes in your title, tags, or description can really boost visibility. Happy to offer more insight if you're interested!
Beautiful looking machine, I can see you take pride in your bike. 👍
Great video Lynn, taking my bike to Glencoe next week, then Oban
Really an amazing video and fantastic view. I subscribed your channel 😊
Great vid, I stayed at Red Squirrel in the early '90s, lovely up there…
Love the Red Squirrel campsite. Perfect for hammock camping. Been twice this year already. Also on a T120 black. 😄
Glad to see you finally got your tent put in order!😋
Great to see Harley riders are the same throughout the world! Passing you while filtering, that’s just rude.
Lovely scenery. I look forward to watching more from you.
Brilliant adventure and the best part of the country! Awesome campsite also… ☀️
