Yeah, my legs were not feeling so good. So, uh the result is also uh after uh how do you say it? Yeah, m matching my legs. How much of a battle was it finding out that you weren’t good today? Yeah, I mean I was fighting my uh my bike and my legs today. So, uh didn’t, as I said, I didn’t have the be best legs. Um luckily, the tour is long and I still believe in myself in our plan and still believe that that we can win. Did did it take you by surprise because in the dolphin you were faster than parach uh I was a bit surprised about my legs. Yes. Uh but yeah sometimes that’s racing. What can you say about the gap now? That it’s uh yeah about a minute is a bit in your opinion. I mean of course the 1 minute is seems like quite a lot but in the last few years the the tour has been won by a bit more than that. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. realized it wasn’t going well. Thanks, J. Yeah, I mean uh after the first days, uh yeah, mentally I was a bit struggling. So, uh yeah, give me some confidence today with quite a good TT and uh uh I’m super happy. Uh legs felt quite good today and yeah, we have to see uh for the next days. Talk to us a bit about the challenges of that course. I mean uh yeah, first of all was a super long TT. Uh the start was quite technical. Uh with an apple part, so uh you had to pace quite good there. But uh still, yeah, I think I went a bit too deep at the start and then I was just fighting the last kilometers and yeah, I was happy when uh it uh was downhill to the finish and I could recover a bit there. All right. Obviously a challenging start so far in the tour. Was this the best day you’ve had so far? Yeah, I would say the legs felt today the best and uh I hope uh they stay like this, but yeah, tomorrow will be another hot day. So, we see there. Will there be any change in the hierarchy and and Red Bull if you if you beat Primos today? Uh no, no, no worries. Uh I mean uh yeah, the plan was to get to uh go full today and but uh anyways, Primos stays the leader. uh he showed a good performances also. Yeah, yesterday I was struggling and I think I can uh support him as good as possible then also later on in the second and third week. Thanks guys. My life should normally be a little bit happier. Ben, what’s the secret with the tour to France of rolling with the punches and keeping motivated every day? Uh when you win here, it changes everything. Yeah, simple as that. And how do you keep yourself motivated despite some bad days and then good days like today? That win. You know, success here is uh bigger than success elsewhere. Had some pretty great times. Obviously, I’ve won here before, but yeah, wouldn’t mind doing it again. Um and uh feeling that uh that joy. Well said. Good luck. Thank you.

  1. After reading that post made by his wife, I'm starting to think this guy has the weight of the world on his shoulders. I'd argue his past great TT performance was a relative outlier, and not the other way around.

  2. similar to last year. and tadej won't stop here…looking forward to some breakaways and someone to animate this race with a cool solo win. nice fella this lipowitz

  3. So sad, he may can change teams and switch to a new training. I was surprised today.
Maybe it is really his maximum performance. He may want to retire and think about the future.

  4. his wife complaining about the team didn't help him either. poor guy. he's probably stressed out and embarrassed about it. it's still not an excuse tho. but stress and lack of sleep takes a huge toll on your performance. he just doesn't want to admit it.

  5. He will bounce back just like evenepole did today this is bike racing ,pog will likely have a bad day over the next 2 weeks, people are so tribal just sit back and enjoy this golden age,it won’t last forever

  6. The Tour is very long, any of the GC contenders may have a bad day. But it seems clear to me that at this moment Tadej is a step above Jonas, and I suspect that his legs failed today due to the explosive effort made the day before.

  7. I am gutted for him. Being forced to give sprinting etc a chance in a desperate attempt to try to neutralize tadej.

Then, the drama with his wife which is absolutely child and unacceptable. She should not be doing this to him at the peak of his career. What a shame. It has to also be taking its toll.

  8. Even in admitting defeat, even when he's saying "I'm gone, I'm dead", Pogačar still got style. Whereas Vingegaard rambling on about how he couldn't find his legs for three minutes straight, that has got no style at all.
