Completely new to cycling and road biking in general. Never owned a road bike but did a 30KM ride on an oversized road bike (neck was screaming for its life).

This 80's old timer road bike caught my eye. Mainly bought it for the aesthetics but also for fast commutes in the city. Also for short rides upto 50KM.

Was it worth the price? Any tips and or advice are welcome, provided that I don't have to spend money. 😉

Thanks!

Sizing is everything, as you’ve already discovered. This looks like a larger frame size, maybe a 58 or 60? So definitely make sure it’s right for you before committing.

That’s a great price for an awesome bike – Reynolds 531 and a modern-ish (read: integrated shift/brake levers) groupset with dual pivot brake calipers is a perfect blend of vintage aesthetic while still being useable for long and fast road rides.

  3. Looks decent but hard to say off one picture, so you have any more?

    Also… I’m skeptical of the size, I’d guess this is a 54cm, not a 51cm
