This happened after i pumped my tyre (tubeless). Air immediately leaked from the rim and the tyre is completely deflated now. What can be the cause of this? Is it a serious issue?

The rim tape is leaking. Better take of the tire and install new tape.
It’s leaking from the tape, the rim seam is just the most convenient exit point. Could possibly be leaking at the valve as well.
Did you add sealant or are you just testing without sealant for now?
