Come spend a productive 24 hours in London with me, a PhD student at the University of Oxford! I started the day with a focused study session at a rooftop co-working space (matcha latte in hand ☕), then hopped on a bike to explore some of London’s most iconic landmarks. In the evening, I wandered around Battersea Power Station and ended the day by trying some fun snacks.

If you enjoy relaxing study vlogs, academic life as a PhD student, or just need some motivation for your own productive day, I hope this video brings you some cozy inspiration. 🎓📚✨

Hi there. I’m a computational PhD student at Oxford University and technically I could work from anywhere. So, let’s work from London. Good morning. I’m currently in London and I’m going to stay here for a whole week. And aside for having to do computational work, I really want to take advantage of being here. But just look at that view of this place. Honestly, it’s so nice. Also, you might think, “Oh, the weather is so great. You would never go out in this weather.” This is like nice weather in UK. It is like the typical summer weather because it’s actually quite hot. It’s just really gray, but it’s not that bad when you’re here. Anyway, I want to also show you the inside of this hotel because it has this really nice rooftop office area. I’m currently on the terrace of it, but it’s like the perfect place for studying. So, let’s start the study session. Okay, so I just finished my PhD work and now I’m out and about looking for a bicycle. I basically used to live in London for 2 years and believe it or not, London is a super cyclable city. You can actually visit every single tourist attraction within like half an hour. So, that’s what we’re going to do. We found some bicycles. Uh-huh. I first need a drink. Honestly, those like hired bicycles are so difficult to ride. They’re so heavy. Okay, as you can see, I’m here by the Batisy Power Station. This building, I think, opened up just a few years ago, is so nice on the inside, and I definitely want to show you guys around in there because it honestly is so worth it. And I feel like it’s such an underrated attraction in London, but I feel like anyone who comes to London should go into this place. I am really hungry, so I’m trying to find a snack. And as you can see, the sun is already setting. So, I might actually stay around this area for tonight. Find some snacks, find something to drink. Let’s have a look inside. This building used to be a coal fired power station, hence the name. But now it is actually a really cute shopping mall. And I really like about it that the shops aren’t too big, so I don’t get overwhelmed by then. So at this point, I was just hunting for some food. And I finally found the perfect dinner, which was Poké Ball. I love Pokeball. It is my favorite meal. But then afterwards, I actually saw this bow bun restaurant, which looked so cute. And we had to go inside. It was actually so fun because aside from having these paper menus, you got this AI assistant where you basically place whatever you think about ordering on the table and it would show you how it would look like. It was really fun. I’ve never seen this before. So, I decided to get this grapefruit juice. It kind of looked like cocktail, but it was non-alcoholic. It was super sour, but it was exactly what I needed at that moment. I love sour things. And then afterwards, we went around on the outside because there’s also tons of shops out there. And I really wanted to go to this one specific supermarket. It is a general store, but they have the most random things like these Italian biscuits that are just so good. And then British tea, these salami sticks that my mom used to buy, but they were actually so expensive in the store, so I didn’t end up buying them. But I found these peeler gummy bears that I see all over YouTube, so I had to try them. And then afterwards, we headed home because the sun was already setting. Let’s try this. H interesting. I’ve seen these on YouTube before, so I really wanted to try them. They’re supposed to be peelable, I guess. Oh my god, that looks so disgusting. But they have like an outside I guess shell almost like a gummy shell and then it’s like squishy on the inside. I mean they’re fine. Would I buy them again for £4? Definitely not. But I really wanted to try them. Usually I don’t buy into trends but I love gummy bears so you know one time. Why not? Like they’re literally called peelers. It says peelable but this is what you end up end up with. I don’t know if that works, but they they taste fine, I guess. Also, one thing I just quickly wanted to mention is that today I hit 1 and a half thousand subscribers, which is insane for me on YouTube. Like, I never thought I would reach it, especially this quickly. Like, I uploaded my first video 3 months ago. Like, the fact that people even watch my videos and find my content somewhat interesting or somewhat helpful, it means a lot to me. I am thinking of doing a Q&A at some point, like a get to know me video. So, if you would be interested in me doing this type of video, leave down any question you would have for me down in the comments or also follow my Instagram because I’m thinking of collecting some questions there as well. Thank you so much to anyone who’s watching my content. Like, I genuinely really appreciate you.
