Please excuse the humble brag. But I usually get the same three phrases from people who see me riding my bike randomly in public. From the younger crowd it's "can you do a backflip?"
From working people usually landscapers at the park it's " do you get paid doing that?" ( that one bugs me the most because I do not, nor do i want to be) and the last one is in the meme above. Over the years I've formulated comedic answers to all these to kind of change the subject. Tell me some awkward conversations you've had with normies while riding your bike in public.

No… but when I eat shit somebody always seems to show up. Which can be handy depending on the impact
The only one that’s kinda annoying is the first one, but kids are just shit and they may not know that many tricks or how uncommon doing flips is.
Possibly same with the second. They may think you do shows or something because you don’t see flatland bmx on espn.
And the last one is kinda just facts, and a vague compliment.
Don’t forget the “do a wheelie” crowd.
No, but what would happen all the time is my best friend and my personalities clash.
Multiple times people have yelled out “Do a bunnyhop!” like Tony Hawk telling people to do a kick flip.
He yells back something along the lines of “I’m not your performing monkey!” Whereas I jump.
So there’s a lot of confused faces because one of us refuses while the other happily hops down the road.
Talkers are session downgraders, especially the haha funny comedians who just skedaddle when i come over to HEAR THE HAHA FUNNY JOKE!!! *(I have earphones on)*.
Define “complex”?
Also maybe just take the compliment? 😂🤷🏽♂️
A lot of normies see an adult on a bmx and assume they had to borrow their kids bike or something. Like you can’t afford to get a bigger bike that suits your frame.
I’m about to get a new bmx and being 6’2″ 220+ I’m sure I’ll get some weird looks trying to do flatland tricks at my local park. Not bike park just regular park/park.
My favourite is the “why is your bike so small?”.
Younger always figured since skaters always do the eye roll when someone shouts “Do a kickflip!” then I’ll eventually get annoyed at all the people shouting “Do a barspin!” It’s never happened lol. I’d honestly be stoked to meet someone on the street who can name one BMX trick.
I do get the “Why is your bike so small?” thing a lot though
