So I bought an 11 speed groupset off of eBay and installed it on a bike for a friend and can't get it to downshift well.
The derailer is a Deore RD M5100, it's a sunrace 11-46t cassette, and an SLX SL M-7000 shifter.
I have some concerns that this shifter isn't compatible or that I installed the inline barrel adjuster incorrectly.
All of the cabling is brand new jagwire and it is the LEX 4mm housing.
There is also a small rubber boot in the derailer install guide that should go on the last section of the cable, is that what's causing all this issue???
11speed groupset wont downshift well.

I also have some suspicions about the chain length and the B screw adjustment, I’m usually a 3 speed or fixed rider but I’d really like to figure this one out.
Check chain length per the Shimano manual first, then confirm b-tension. The chain looks like it’s too short, but it is hard to tell if there’s too much b tension.
Chain looks a little short, the extra tension from that is probably affecting your shifting.
Chain was too short! I did not zero it out correctly per the Shimano manual didn’t expect it to cause so many issues.
Thanks for the help
