This is an opportunity to do an upgrade on your bike.

Hope you didn’t have to walk back too much.

Are your bars twisted, too? That’s a gnarly wheel and I can only imagine how much force that took. Hope you’re ok, OP!

  3. This happened to me once about 4 miles from where I was parked. I pushed for awhile but ended up taking the wheel off and hitting it against a tree until it was true enough to spin but man I was freaked out that it was going to explode for collapse on me the entire way back.

For clarity, came off a jump landed downhill got squirrelly and bounced off the tree kinking the rim, twisting the wheel and my body weight did the rim in as I gingerly folded over the handlebars. I’m okay just a few blisters from walking out in mountain bike shoes!

Do yourself a favor and don’t replace with Stan’s rims. Stan’s are very soft I would go with DT Swiss.

You just converted it into a self turning rim for better maneuverability on flow trails.
