I just bought a new wheel for my kid and mounted it on his BMX. It comes with a cassette/hub with the letters STLNBIKES on it.

I have a question. Is it supposed to behave like this when I pedal forward? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/F0YaCG_0D3c

If I stop pedaling forward its like its breaking a bit. Not rolling freely. If I take my foot of the pedals the crank/pedals move forward by itself and it feels like it then rolls without resistance.

If the bike is upside down and I backpedal the wheel turns backwards. If I backpedal hard/fast it coasts a bit.

There’s some friction and rubbing going on that’s amazing it. Is the chain super tight? You want a bit of play there.

First, reduce chain-tension to see if that fixes it – seems like tight chain is making the driver bind (which isn’t exactly normal). πŸ‘

perhaps double-check axle nuts and washers, and their relation to the bike frame (dropouts) … washer is outside the frame, not binding on the driver?
