After a rest day recharging from my Arctic quest, I push further north toward the Norwegian border. But this solo ride has a thrilling new twist: Viggo is joining me for the journey to Nordkapp! Together, we tackle a paced ride on our Rykers – proving disabilities don’t stop us from conquering 261 miles (420 km) through the breathtaking forests and waterways of Scandinavia.

Our route takes us across the Torne River border into Finland, riding deep into the Arctic Circle at Joukenski. Then, another unexpected turn: we cross back into Sweden to rest for the night in Pajala

Well, good morning. And today is quite an exciting one because if everything goes to plan, we should be crossing over into the Arctic Circle in a couple of hours time. And I’m going to take quite a fun little route actually. We will start in Sweden. We will cross over to Finland and then we’ll go into the Arctic Circle and then continue north towards Norcap. Here’s the route. To start our journey, we’re going to head southeast towards Scalfti. We will then head northeast up the E4 towards Tour. We’ll then head north up the E10. We’ll then head east on the 98 towards Finland, crossing the border as we cross over the river. As like many joint European countries, the middle of the river is the border. We will then cross over into the Arctic Circle at Eseni in Finland, not its counterpart in Sweden. From there, we head north and then northwest to PA for our hotel for tonight. Stay tuned for some beautiful scenery, some fun and antics, and a slight little twist to my solo journey. Whilst this is playing, please remember to hit that subscribe button. And if you’re enjoying this vlog, then give it a thumbs up and share it with your mates. And if you’d like to buy me a cup of coffee, then you can do so by clicking on the link in my bio. It’s very much appreciated. Thank you. Bye-bye, little cabin. You’ve been a nice all day. Bye-bye, Donovan. Bye-bye, VGO. Oh, where’s Vigo going? Looks like he’s going somewhere. H wonder if he’s heading my way. Well, you know when someone says to you, I wish I was going to North Cape and what do you do? I was going to say, oh, come with me. So, off we go. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] We’ve been riding for an now. And we’ve stopped here by the sea. Is that the Baltic? Uh, that’s a Baltic. Yeah. Yeah, Baltic Sea. Doesn’t look very Baltic. It’s beautiful. Yeah. We were here on our rest day the other day. Just stopped for coffee. Stay tuned cuz afterwards you’re going to see some footage that you don’t usually see. Heat. Heat. And just while we’re taking in this beautiful scenery, I’d just like to remind everybody what it is I’m actually doing. I am riding to NorCap to raise money for homeless veterans back home in the UK. And I’d like to give a big shout out to everyone who supported this journey in so many different ways. Those of you that have sponsored me, those that you’ve bought me coffee, those that have bought my book, those that have given me a home, given me support, emotional, physical, and just your cheerleading is just amazing, and I couldn’t do it without you. So, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. If you would like to know more about what I’m doing and why, then the link is down below in the description. Come and see it. Come and see the video there. Um me interviewing Lee and find out more about this amazing charity. It’s not too late to come and sponsor me. And please remember I have a flag with me. So I would love names of veterans past and present to put on that, take up to Nordcap and then bring it back to the home. Heat. [Music] Heat. This is our last little rest stop here in Sweden. We’re about half an hour away from the Arctic Circle and probably a couple of hours from where we’re staying tonight. And if you watch my vlogs regularly, you will know that I like to take a little afternoon nap sometimes in very random places like churchyards, breath beacons, wherever I can find really. And I actually bought this little parachute hammock that you can string up on the trees for this trip and I looked at the instructions on the back and it gave me a headache and confused me. So, it’s still in its wrapper and that’s fine. Other times when I can’t stop for asleep, I’ll have some caffeine. But it’s way past 1:00. In fact, it’s about half past 5 now. So, I’m not having any of that. So, what we’re going to do instead is we are going to do what Big does when he needs to get a little bit refreshed and ready to carry on his ride. And it’d be really good if all of you could join in. So, stop where whatever you’re doing, wherever you are, join in. You can do it in your chair if you want. I’m going to hum because I do like to hum, don’t I? Not smelly hum, but hum. It’s good for your solar pectus. You can just do that. Don’t leave us here like two nanas doing it for the camera on her own. Come and join in. It’s what I’m doing now. It’s getting a bit shy. Come on. Come on. You got you got to take the lead cuz it’s your thing to do. Yeah. It’s it’s my thing. Yeah. Uh my name is Vigo and uh I’m on adventure here with this beautiful lady and we’re going to do a a little uh dance just to get the legs uh working again so we can continue. Okay. Yeah. Ready? Yes. Yes. Keep going. Yes. That’s it. That’s better than the sleep and caffeine, isn’t it? [Music] listening to his music. It’s nodding his head. I nod mine looking around and figure is just listening to his music. Okay. Heat. Heat. Right. Ready? Just bouncing. Here we go. Spin L 200 m. Woohoo! This is amazing. Sick country. Welcome to Finland. [Music] Oh, look. We’ve got to get photos, haven’t we? Got to get a photo. Okay. Yay. Well, we’re now in the Arctic Circle and it all looks closed. H. We’re here. What? I thought there’d be a big sign saying welcome to the Arctic Circle. Yeah, it says 500 meter where there was nothing more. There was nothing there apart from a shut cafe and a garage. Yeah, there’s a bit of an antilimax. Yeah, but here I’m still smiling. being there. Well, I do like the Finnish side. You can just see more of the river, but stay tuned for another twist. Some of you eagle eyes may well have spotted it way back at the beginning when I was doing the map. Karina didn’t. This looks like an old crossing control, doesn’t It empty and abandoned. Oh, there’s another blue sign up here. Oh, welcome to Sweden. I thought we were staying in Finland tonight. I can’t see very much on me visor. on my windshield. It’s a bit like a massacre out here. Here we are at the Lapland River Hotel. Tata for now. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. Hey. [Music] Hey. [Music] [Music] H. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Hey, [Music] hey, hey. [Music]
