Hi everyone – I’m having an issue with my Canyon Lux World Cup, where the chain, when in the biggest gear (largest cog in the rear), runs way too close to the frame and rubs against the chain guard bolt (the one that sits near the chainstay behind the crank).

The bike was bought used, but it’s basically new. The previous owner built it using components from a brand new Specialized, including the crankset, cassette, and chain.

My mechanic has tried installing some SRAM spacers, but they didn’t fit. He suspects it might be some Canyon-specific spacers that aren’t available separately.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Could it be that spacers are missing? Or that the crankset doesn’t match the frame properly? Any tips on how to fix this would be really appreciated.

That chainring looks way too close. I’d say it’s either missing crank spacers or it’s not made for that bb spec. What crank is it?

Chain line too narrow. Add spacers to drive side if the spindle is the right length, etc. You might be able to get a different ring if that one is offset at all and spacers are good. Otherwise new crank.
