Hey everyone, I'm looking at getting my first full suspension bike. And I usually ride jump trails, downhill trails, but I also do like to just ride my bike normally and a lot of the time I will bike to get to a bike park. But I'm wondering whether I should get the specialized status 2 170 or an electric full sus? I know the specialized is pretty heavy but I do really like the geometry and travel it has. And also with an electric full sus, is there any other maintaining I will need to do other than just lubing my chain and cleaning the bike?

Where in Poland do you ride? From your current description I would rather want to go with the status. Depends on your style of riding
Never owned an e-bike myself, but I spent a week on the ibis oso. I’d go with the status over the e-bikes you have shown. I had fun riding the e-bike but I didn’t have as much fun going down as I do on my own bike (ibis ripmo). I also found that after 4 days of riding the e-bike going back to regular pedal power was a rough transition.
There are some other bikes that pedal better than the status, with similar travel, and still coming in less than the e-bikes. There are also cheaper e-bikes out there that are high quality. But idk where you live so maybe the options are more limited than where I am.
Overall I think you will have less fun bike park riding on an e-bike for a higher price tag. And at the end of the day it’s about having the most fun at the best price.
The status is very clearly it for the type of riding you wanna do. Electric full sus makes more sense when you are located somewhere without transport to the top and you always have to paddle. You can just ride much more often then. Plus lots of parks dont even allow e Bikes.
This is all personal preference. Do you want an aggressive endro that’ll take anything you throw at it but absolutely suck ass to peddle up hill or do you want an e-bike that will make the climbs cake but will not be as durable on the jumps while being heavier?
Would be googling the hell out of whatever motor is on the e-bike should you go that route to look for issues.
this is like comparing pineapple to elephants.. you either want an acustic enduro bike or an electric trail bike 🤷
for what you describe obviously the enduro bike.. but if you are looking at electric canyon bikes they do also have E- versions of the Spectral, Strive or Torque.
the Spectral is the do it all bike, can do park and a day in the pedals. and obviously Specialized has similar products.
yes there is extra service on the motor on the ebikes, but also extra wear on basically all components because of weight and the torque from the motor.
My e-bike has given me way more freedom and trail choice than a DH bike ever gave me.
Get a long travel e, you will not regret it.
