So as the title goes. Got my first road bike today, still surprised why it doesn’t come with a kickstand and still getting used to the riding position (came from a hybrid bike before this).

Got this from Decathlon for ~$110 as it has some minor cosmetic scratches, a bad bartape (even though they changed it for me FOC), and a metal cover from the brake lever is gone (and they promised to get me a new one FOC next week).

Pictures of me bringing the bike back. The nearest Decathlon for me is in another country, and I had to take a ferry back home. Customs and immigration officers were surprised someone brought back a bicycle.

Anyone ever put wider tyres on this bike? I am planning to kind of convert it for gravel use (maybe 700x32c).

Kickstands add a lot of weight and can be dangerous when you’re riding at high speeds. And don’t really provide much utility when you can just lean the bars against a wall.

You’ve picked well though, the Tribans are insanely good value

That’s a very sensible choice. Decathlon bikes usually deliver good performance without breaking the bank.

Tire clearance is supposed to be up to 36mm.
