Mountain biking is crazy. I’m a road cyclist, and love to pick a destination and mellow out while my legs take me there. CAN’T DO THAT while mountain biking.
Legs handles the climbing with ease, but the lateral core stability and trapezius underdevelopment were exposed.
Hardest part seemed to be navigating some of the rock features on the trail. Thankfully nobody else was up there, as I was saying “WTF” quite often.
Also, how cautious should I be about the tires? I know they’re the primary feature of fat bikes, but some of the pointy rocks made me worry about harming the casing.
I guess while caution is the topic, how easy of it to bend pedals? Noticed there’s quite a bit of scraping and smashing down there.
Great time. Might be heading back for more today.

Beautiful bike – I’m jealous of that scenery, that looks like some fun terrain.
