Protesters and counter-protesters faced off as they gathered outside a hotel housing migrants in Norwich.
The protest comes against the backdrop of unrest in Epping and other parts of the UK against asylum hotels.

Rain has really dampened things down. Until a short time ago, there were hundreds and hundreds of people here protesting outside the Brook Hotel. We’re on the outskirts of Norwich, very much against the fact that asylum seekers are being put up inside that hotel. Then on the other side of the road, on the other side of the roundabout, was a group of people uh very much in support of those people who’ve come to this country. many of them on small boats. They actually left already. That was a a planned ending at 3:15 before uh the rain uh really began. But actually, it had been going pretty peacefully. They were separated by the main road until uh according to reports, someone from those supporting those inside the hotel crossed the road. They had their face apparently covered in a balaclava and that caused an enormous surge of fury with the protesters on this side pushing against the police, shouting, swearing, and then there was a surge maybe 100 meters or so up the road and it appeared that someone was going to be arrested and that possibly a decision was made uh not uh to do that. Since then, we’ve heard people coming past beeping their horns in support. You can hear that now. Uh but far fewer people here than there were. Now, I did have a chance to speak to some people. Uh many reluctant to go on Camry and certainly those supporting those in the hotel. None of those would speak to us. But I did speak to a man called David, a father of an 8-year-old boy. He’s from a couple of miles away in CSI in Norwich. And he said that he’s a veteran. He knows a lot of people who are homeless that they have nowhere to stay. He himself cannot get a dentist. The people in this hotel are able to get a dentist. He said that as well as the food that they have inside that hotel, they’re given meal tickets. He said to be able to go to the restaurant across the road. And he he just said that that simply wasn’t right. He also talked about being on the bus uh with his eight-year-old son and um some people he believed to be asylum seekers staring at his son. He said it wasn’t right. They he said that many of these people abide by different laws, different rules to the the kind of thing happening here. So that is what we’ve been hearing from here. And this of course against a backdrop of protests that we’ve seen uh in Eping in Essex that began last week about 18 arrests police officers hurt but also others in Canary Warf also uh in Southampton in Nottinghamshire. Uh but here certainly things starting to calm down.

Damned wrong that I was refused benefits when i needed help. Refused as a born and bred Englishman and a veteran,because I’d been stuck out of uk due to covid and had to wait 3 months when I returned.. No dentist when I needed one and these refugees get free stuff in our faces. And they want us to change uk into their ways???? The thin line between watching and doing something about it is breaking now. Prison looks ok 👍 for free food and accommodation

Illegal migrants being treated better than people who live here. I live in a house with an illegal economic migrant, moved in here by the council. He refuses to work, urinates everywhere including the back garden, is misogynistic, arrogant, a liar and no one else in this shared house wants him here, including the landlord who's been trying to him to move out for months, but he won't leave. Other people have moved out or threatened to move out because of him. He thinks the council are just going to give him his own place if he gets kicked out of here.
It must be obvious by now that it's the Police and their Antifa pets who are deliberately causing the trouble.
Members of Parliament don't want the pitchfork mob visiting them at home, and are probably in some mild state of panic now. For these are the people responsible for the situation.

Theres NO way out of this mess now, nhs cant sustain everyone, no dentists ( except for imigrants) saw a youtube video yesterday with food from Marks and Spencers being delivered to a migrant hotel for 312 people, bloody unbelievable!!! One of the migrants had a pair of trainers on that cost £170!!!! A taxi drew up and was taking him 3hrs away, the British driver wouldnt say where and the guy filming asked if he thought he was doing the right thing and he answered " ive got 2 jobs mate and a mortgage"the guy filming said " so have I mate but I wouldnt do what your doing" the whole world is out of control!!!!
