hello there good morning everybody welcome to another video by me Mr drone it is Wednesday the 21st of May 2025 today it is 6 a.m um a lot of people ask what time I got up and left my house when I say it’s so early in the morning i get to places like the Rexom Stadium just behind us here so I was up about quart 5 and out of my house this morning to get down here for 6:00 a.m um we’ve come to have a look at the the works going on at the moment at Rexoms we were here about about it been 9 days ago now um we had luck i want to get an update on the the cup expansion because we know they’re due to start that Rexim have made it into the championship next season which is backto backto back promotions which is almost unheard of in uh in English football it really is it’s a it’s a great achievement fantastic um congratulations to Rexom so had a look um just over a week ago um they haven’t started anything on the the cups stand at the moment but they are um they are installing a a brand new pitch to make it championship um championship league ready it’s a it’s a hybrid pitch i believe it’s costing about a million pound and it is a syscratch sis grass pitch um if any of you watched my videos of the new Everton stadium at Bramley Moroc which is called the Hill Dickinson Stadium now um that is the same uh pitch that that Everton use same firm that Everton use cisgrass okay um so we’re going to get up in the air and have a look at where they’re up to with it okay see where it’s at today as I say 21st of May 2025 let’s get up there and have a [Music] look okay everybody we are just rising above the stadium now get in view you can see we’re looking directly at uh the cop stand what is named the fourth wall at the moment the temporary stand so let’s get in there and have a look right okay it looks like they are up to the stage looks like they’re laying a gravel type of material down at the moment there’s big mounds of it there which been placed onto the pitch and that will be that will be divided out equally there looks like they’re already halfway through that so you see the lines in the pitch at the moment that is most likely see the lines of the whiter color lines at the moment so I’ll move down a little bit now that’s about 50 mters and we’ll take a zoom in you see that there’s piping that runs into some stones there that’s likely to be the drainage system that’s being laid at the moment on those those lines that will stretch right the way down the pitch evenly you’ll see but a lot of it has now been covered by this gravel material which is all to help with drainage i I’ll tell you what though seeing it is um only like just over 7 days like say we were here last Monday so it’s Wednesday morning now so it’s yeah 9 days they have done an awful lot within that period an awful Next up we will be looking for them to start putting the the pitch heating system in which I believe on this particular pitch it’s going to be around around 20 miles of piping for the pitch heating system that’s unreal to think of it isn’t it there’s the um gravel material there not sure if that sand will then go over the top of that or I think the the heating system will go in maybe covered by sand and then what happens with the the cisgrass um is at some point they get to a point of of of seeding yeah and then they put a couple of big machines on that go up and down um sewing the the hybrid fibers synthetic fibers into the grass it’s quite cool to see it’s got a lot of using nowadays looks like when I said it last week about this this um section of the stand being taken down here but it looks like they’ve just taken that down doesn’t it to make an access route for um machinery and materials so it’s going to be interesting to see what happens once they have sewn the pitch in that like I say it’s it’s a couple of big machines that they use um to do the cisgrass so they’ll definitely need access for them as well when they’re at that stage and then it’ll be probably be about four to five weeks maybe six weeks for the for the pitch to be to be [Music] ready which doesn’t give them loads of time between now and the new season but I’m sure it’s all factored in to be ready keep an eye on what’s happening with the new stand though the new cop stand because that’s um it’s also really interesting phase of the development of this of this ground but there we go guys that’s how the pitch looks as at today’s date the 21st of May so we’ll finish off there there’s not much not much more to see it’s just a little update on where they’re up to with the pitch so as I say we’ll start um seeing within the next um might see if we can get down here the weekend um let’s see what we can see then but we’ll finish off here for now okay so there we go um little update on the the racecourse ground home of Rexom FC uh championship team next season as I said at the beginning um massive massive achievement there um but yet that the the main works is the the pitch area at the moment um as we’ve looked at and and as I say it looks like it looks to me like they they have done um they’re just completing that drainage system section of it there’s different um levels that they that they do obviously so it looks like they’ve just done the drainage next will be the the heating we’ll see the we’ll see um see sections left um for the sprinkler systems as well um to be put in and then at some point we’ll see seeding which will be followed by cygrass um machines put on to sew the synthetic fibers into the pitch as well and then we’ll start seeing some some green coming through at some point um and you’re talking you’re probably talking between the time of there seeing as for how much they’ve done already there you’re probably talking a matter of of weeks before we start seeing um them seeding that seeing that pitch but we will keep an eye on it we’ll certainly keep an eye on it um it’s looking good though isn’t it it’s looking good um I’m sure all you Rexom fans are um overjoyed with the progress and the development and that that you’re seeing here all the time um so yeah it’s really good guys I hope you enjoyed the video please like share and subscribe thank you very much everybody take care bye now [Music]

do you think this will be ready for the new season
I think that’s the same pitch Tranmere have too
I really hope they can maintain to stay in the championship, I really like that project
Must be costing an absolute fortune.
Shows the club mean business.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are in the Premiership next season….
Is it right that they went from non proffesional club to championship in the past years, but still havent spent even the tiniest amount on the stadium apart from putting up the temporary stand? I feel like for the ambitions they have with the club its kinda crazy that nothing is happening, the stadium is in such a huge contrast to everything else
Lorries still arriving at 5.30 tonight so you could see a lot of progress at your next visit Nick.
The dug outs are also moving. Into the opposite stand to where they are now. Just make out a couple of rows of seats have disappeared underneath the X of Wrexham. Lots of work going on there at the moment. Making good progress though.
It's just a wonderful story what wrexham are going nick and long may that continue brilliant footage
All this is just insane to me. At least the fans can have a sleep in on a snowy weekend and not have to go down there with a shovel and get the snow off the pitch
Nick, the B2B2B you mentioned at 0:39 isn't 'almost unheard of'….it's the first time it's ever been done in the 5 tiers of English professional footbal.
Another watch out is they have started the new dug outs on the opposite side to the original ones
They will have to start work on the new stand as soon as possible. probably as soon as the work on the new pitch is completed. if they get promoted they will need the new stand to meet up to premier league standards. like luton did when they got promoted. mind you the premier league has reduced its standards for some clubs as the rules used to be premier league stadiums used to have to have a capacity of at least 15000 all seater.
Brilliant update Mr Drone. The progress is moving fast now. Best wishes Graeme from Portsmouth. Play Up Pompey.
Another great PC Nick, thanks.
Just heard about u on the radio
Hello from Absolute Radio 90s!!
Wrexham AFC Fanzone is doing daily drone updates for anyone interested. Cost of this pitch is estimated at 1.7 million quid.
Great stuff Mr D, thanks for putting in the time to create these films.
You can see where some seats have been taken out of the Mold Road stand, this is where the dug outs are going to be located.
I still cant get my head around the fact that we are going to be playing in the Championship next season, Rob and Ryan are now going to see how expensive it is to run a football club.
Please do this on Blackpool 🤞We are doing a new east stand and there’s so much going on but nobody can see ! Would really appreciate if you could get your drone up at Bloomfield Road !😊
Hi Nick I have heard the pitch is going to be realigned and moved 2 metres towards the kop end.
Congrats on coming up with us to the championship see you next season your a good bunch of fans

Looks good, we've had pitch heating at Oakwell for about 25 years but it's never saved a game from being called off because all the surrounding areas have been deemed unsafe for fans to walk on in snow and ice so seems like a waste of money to install that!
One thing that interests me, is they propose to turn the stadium into a 55000 capacity stadium in the future. But apart from the Kop stand the other 3 stands have things behind them which restricts what they can do. The other goal end has the university behind it. The main stand has a road directly behind it. The Macron stand has a well known pub and a road behind it. I have just been thinking about it recently
Temp stand is being taken down now grass is coming though and pitch surrounds are being done aa well as dugout relocation, other thing to look for is new substation for new stand is being built other side of flats on entrance to the club car park
@misterdroneuk temp stand gone as of today
