How fast are the tour to France cyclists? Well, this is Mononttonu, the hardest climb you can do on a Zift. It’s so steep it soaks fear into the eyes of any mammal looking to attempt it. But this morning in the real world, this mythical beast was conquered by the man himself, Tatty Pagata, in 53 minutes. But after watching him fly up it, it made me wonder, even if it was on my turbo trainer in my living room, 16,000 km away from the actual mountain, if I had to dig, could I get up it? To give context, the catcher weighs 66 kilos. And during his effort, he managed to maintain 420 W. And on the other hand, I’m 80 kg. And just to keep up with him, I’d need to hold 560 W on this climb. So, I set a realistic goal of holding 320 W to be ahead. That was until 40 minutes in. I realized my legs were numb, and I knew I wasn’t going to be able to do it. But there was no point giving up. So, I ramped up the power, pushed myself to the absolute limit, and cross the line in 68 minutes. And surprisingly, only 15 minutes lower than Pasha. It’s amazing. [Music]

  1. Hi friends, sorry if this has upset anyone. My goal was to make a fun video testing myself, I know I’m not anything like the pros, however this is just a video, nothing serious. 🙂

  2. Absolutely brilliant. 80 Kilos as well, that actually is the most impressive part. Yes, there are other factors in a climb like weather, heat and etc (albeit you doing this in an apartment means worse air conditions…), utterly amazing for your physique as usually cyclist are skinnier

  3. As you know, the pros conduct stationary training with large fans, misters and drink slushies. Core temperature rises when riding at very high wattages and can slow a rider considerably. Performing maximum effort on a stationary trainer – without cooling – and you’ll be ‘cooked’ in about 11 or 12 minutes. It’s called heat exhaustion.

  4. Zwift is BS. Get your overweight ass out on the road and then see whether you can match Pogacar’s pace. Stop living your life via virtual technology and venture out into the real world.

  5. You are carrying to much weight. To put this in perspective, other top professional bicycle athletes couldn't keep up either.

  6. I get the point, but after that Pogacar still did more kms and road the next day 🙁 they are crazy, I couldn't even finish one etape

  7. In teoria da fermo senza vento anche se sei più pesante ma non hai massa grassa, questo è quello che conta dovresti essere più pontente , ma Tadej Pogacar è un 👽 💪💪💪💪💪, 👋 a tutti

  8. I’m from Australia, rode up Mt Ventoux from Malaucene in 2018 on my touring bike on a 3 week bike tour of France. The most physically, mentally and spiritually difficult thing I’ve done in my life. I went through all of the emotions on the ride up.
I was aged 48 and my bike weighed around 20 kgs fully loaded. Had to get off and push it for at least 1/4 of the way and it took me 4 hours to complete.
The hamburger and beers at the cafe at the summit were nice though.
    Fun times lol 😂

  9. Just to let you know biggest thing about ventoux is the headwind on last 6k so I would say you would climb ventoux around 1h15 wich is still good performance but 1h06 is more like 5w/kg 😮

  10. yeah, right… but pogacar does it after battling during 180km against everyone… and he does it every day during 3 weeks. Also, bicycle on the road it is way much more difficult than what you just did indoors with a software. My estimation is that in one real stage you might arrive around 2 hours later. Meaning, disqualified.
