Kinda figured that was where the article was going. Funny enough my usual answer to these usual idiots is : ‘yeah? How many cars do you own?’ 99.98% of the time the idiot has 1. I have 4 registered and insured vehicles at my home… OK ok one is the company’s and I don’t pay for it… But pretty sure I contribute my fair share in that department, and I still help contribute to the system with the company vehicle. That doesn’t even include the other vehicles I have that I pay trail fees, gas and such which yes also contributes some to road maintenance and repair…

I just always say the, “Bikes don’t damage roads like cars do” line.

This also doesn’t factor in the cost of clearing up after the many car accidents that happen every day, all of which are subsidised by the taxpayer.
