Scott Scale 965 on sale

I’m thinking to get a mountain bike for dirt, road, gravel and as an all around bike for avoiding roads with cars. I found Scott Scale is on sale.
I’m looking at 965 model because of Shimano components in case I want to upgrade later.
Is it a good bike for the price, and is it comfortable for small 5-10 miles rides? No crazy stunts or racing. Previous mountain bikes I had: Marin Eldridge Grade with steel frame, LX shifter and an aluminum frame Specialized with STX. Presently enjoying a folding bike, but I’m hoping to avoid too much asphalt in the future.
