Hi everyone, I got this used bike a little bit ago from a couple that no longer has space for it. I wiped it down and sprayed the chain with some WD-40 degreaser but not sure what else to do. The seat is also ever so slightly too tall but want to make sure I can remove what looks to me like some spacers under it to adjust it better for my height. I need to inflate the tires but they look good and breaks seem to work well. I’m a handy person and want to do any maintenance/tune ups mostly on my own. What are the top 5 things I should do to get this bike ready to ride over the weekend?

  1. Remove the sear cover!

It’s not spacers on the seat post, they are attachment brackets. You should be able to remove them without removing the seat post

  2. Put a splashback/mudguard on both wheels (not sure if this is the correct name, google translate).

Biking in the rain or basically anything wet, muddy will make, your bagage and those behind you dirty.
