  1. its a regular square taper. Unscrew the hex bolt. Get a selfextracting bolt and dustcap and pull of the crank with the new bolt. Simple and cheap. I dont know the model, but it looks similar to TA pro 5 vis from the sixties/seventies. TA still makes these and sells them online if you want to replace the blades. Spécialités TA. Good luck

Pre 1982 stronglight is what you have..a 23.35mm×1..it came with a 16mm bolt originally.

    A post 1982 is a 22mm×1mm which is common. With a 14mm bolt.

There are TA cranksets that are 23mm×1mm..with a 15mm bolt…

People need to be careful on the use of bolts so they don’t leave themselves with less options to remove the bolts…or in anybody’s future, with the bikes…like 16mm bolts and small 22mm extraction holes with regular sockets.

As others have said these are 23.35x1mm, the puller you’ve got is the right one. Something that can help clean up chewed threads like this is a metric internal thread file, which is a file with teeth the shape/pitch of the thread. You can also use a M6 tap (same 1mm thread pitch) as a quick n dirty thread file. A bottoming tap works best. Here’s hoping the threads are just a bit gummed up with corrosion and not totally stripped!

  4. If you had to use a small file to take down the first thread, you’d still have many to grab with the extractor. A bit of oil helps, and maybe getting the extractor very squared up and a light rap with a mallet may get it started. 23.35mm is correct, just need to get a grab to start it threading in. Uttering “feckin’ French” while chuckling under your breath also seems to help.
