Hi everyone!

I'm considering upgrading from my entry-level roadbike and have been looking at endurace bikes as I think the geometry works for well for what I am planning to use the bike for. Main use case will be medium to longer rides on weekends and I am planning to use the bike in upcoming triathlons (70.3 and potentially a full IM next year).

I am now looking at both the SLX version of the CF 7 Di2 and the standard version and am not sure whether it's worth upgrading to SLX for the price.

From what I can see the only key differences are the SLX frame and the adjustable cockpit. Main reason I am considering the SLX version is also because I could install the Canyon Gear Groove Aero Extension, which doesn't seem to possible on the standard model.

Do you think the SLX version is still good value and worth the upgrade or are there better alternatives at a similar price point to the SLX version?

Would love your insights and enjoy the weekend!

Both are very nice. I was just wandering why you would want a SLX frame on an endurance bike? Isn’t an SLX more a performance oriented frame? And if you want performance, you’d better be off with an Ultimate, right? My choice would be a top spec CF.

  2. can you afford an aeroad? considering you wanna do longer distances triathlons, get the aeroad. can add clip ons later.

  3. I bought the SLX last month and I love it (apart from the DT Swiss recall). Would absolutely recommend the SLX

  4. Keep in mind current situation about the recall with DT-Swiss wheelsets – Canyon is not really consumer friendly in this case and does not support customers which are no big influencers etc.
