This is day four of cycling the length of Britain on a junkyard bicycle with virtually no money. After enjoying a great night of wild camping in an orchard, I pack up my tent and then enjoy a delicious breakfast of cold baked beans straight from the tin and then hit the road heading north. My main challenge today is the headwind, which is absolutely bloody relentless all day long. Never any fun cycling into a headwind, but sometimes you just got to get on with it. On the bright side, I have another zero cost day today as I managed to feed myself without spending a single penny. Just stopped to get some water at the pub and they gave me some free leftover Yorkshire puddings. [Music] Delicious. I’ve just gone into two grocery stores just before they were closing and asked if they had any food that was going out of date. I’ve ended up with four sandwiches. I got these completely for free. After another long day of riding, I pushed my bike into some woodland and put up my tent. That’s day four done. Almost 250 mi cycled and still just 138 spent.

Loving this series! I had never thought of asking a grocery store or gas station for food that's expiring. Excellent tip! Have an awesome day!!
Surely the beans would have provided some wind assist๐
I love this….we used to hit the dumpsters near bakeries ๐. You did awesome scavenging food! Fk that headwind but hey you get to sleep in a bright red tent….in an orchard ๐
Canโt believe you didnโt have a stout ๐
Good on ya lad! Keep it up sounds like a great journey!
I've done something similar to this. Eating the cold baked beans. My God even a can a day of them changes what comes out the other side. When I bought my beans I would open them at the store. Empty them into a ziplock bag. It reduced weight and when it came time to pack trash, it was one small bag can vs an open can. Good to see you having fun. We trade the comforts of home for the freedom of adventure.
Free food is always excellent ๐ have a lovely trip , looks like fun to me ๐๐ป
