  1. Not claiming to be super smart but basic topology seems to be the thing a lot of other people are most alarmingly dumb at, it’s a wonder anyone is able to tie shoelaces

Is it me or only the last picture is someone badly locking their bike. Like they made an effort, but failed. The other ones are people just choosing to not lock their bikes. I think they are fully aware and you are giving more care than they do of their own bike.

  3. These are new since last time you posted? JFC you must work in the safest city on the planet.

What is this mystical place where a significant number of people bike but nobody has ever heard of a lock?

Ok. So … your response is to take a photo of an unlocked bike … why? Their choice to not lock, or poorly lock a bike is their own decision, one that does not affect you at all.

All this could possibly achieve is shaming.

Last one seems totally fine. It’s not topological closed but in reality it’s locked. No one can just grab it and walk away with it. The lock seems too small to be able to wrap around the handle. And I doubt that anyone walks around with a hex key and removes the handle bars.

The lock is flimsy and exists to keep honest people away. A proper thief will just cut the lock or pick it. So I don’t get it

Not sure I understand this post. You seem to be finding people who have not attempted to lock their bikes up and then acting as if they locked them incorrectly.

To all those with ruffled feathers- When I took these pics last week (as well as the pics from my first post) I left a note with each bike letting them know they should absolutely lock up even though this particular area doesn’t seem to be a hotspot for theft- offering one of my old cable locks as at least the slightest deterrent if they do not have the means to attain one. Most of the bikes I was able to google the model and include how much it could be sold for to give them an idea in the note.

2/5 of those bikes from my first post appear to be locking up now, and one more of them I have seen walking their bike inside to their office.

No need to get upset over this, I promise we’re just having some fun here and not trying to “lock shame” or whatever you’re on about lol

Whenever I lock my bike up I always pull it away from whatever I locked it up to just to make sure i didn’t fuck up.
