3e et dernière journée dans les Pyrénées pour les coureurs de ce Tour de France, avec la 14e étape entre Pau et Superbagnères (182,6 km). Intouchable, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) n’a pas tremblé, mais n’a pas été chercher le triplé, puisque c’est Thymen Arensman (INEOS Grenadiers) qui s’est imposé au terme d’un superbe numéro en échappée. Parti à 37 kilomètres de l’arrivée, le Néerlandais s’est donc offert son premier succès sur le Tour après un grand raid en solitaire. Le Slovène, attaqué par Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) dans la dernière ascension, a lui pris la 2e place et conserve son Maillot Jaune. Une étape bien évidemment marquée par l’abandon de Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step).

minutes. [Music] Yeah, I’m super happy. Of course uh we uh we were close to to another stage win but uh today uh Arasman was uh really really strong and uh this is how uh how he deserved the victory with a super good uh race and Chapo head off to to him and uh deserve the victory but uh me we did super good job and uh we can be really happy and satisfied with the with the Pyrenees because did the team put everything uh that they had today or were you uh keeping some energy? I mean we we rode our pace uh obviously on the downhills. We try to uh go as calm as possible because uh actually was a little bit scary down from Tural was we we take it easy on the downhill and set a good rhythm on the climb. So uh yeah uh we went our pace and was uh really really hard in the end. Super hard day because of the weather and uh because of the uh so many climbs and yeah just a tough day. Yeah, not easy to cope with with the weather when it’s been so hot and and today with the rain with the with the cold. We are doing all this heat adaptation everybody for for the tour and and then we come and it’s like 10° and rain on turmales. But uh yeah, I will not complain if Yeah. Okay. If my nose would be a little bit less blocked, I would be really happy with today’s weather. But uh when you’re a bit under the weather, this this kind of this kind of weather is it doesn’t uh it doesn’t help. But uh for me always when it’s like this, I have good legs. The battle continues with the your main rivals with Yonas but without Remco who had had to retire today. Yeah, I don’t know what happened. Uh yeah, but uh yeah, you never know. You never know in cycling how you wake up and I guess Rimco woke up in a not a good way today and I don’t know what happened exactly why he abandoned but uh in cycling you never know uh when is your last day of riding or um riding the tour or your career. So yeah, I’m really sad that he he left the tour and uh because uh I think he he could uh could have finished uh on podium, but uh yeah um I send him best regards and that he can recover soon and come back uh I hope not stronger.
