Hi all,

I’m in the market for a new carbon road bike and, after doing some research, I came across a local shop offering a 25% discount on the Scott Addict 20 (with alloy wheels and the Shimano 105 Di2 7150 groupset) for around €2500.

On the used market, I’ve seen a couple of tempting options:
• Giant TCR Disc – 11-speed mechanical 105 groupset, Giant SLR 1 carbon wheels – €1350
• Cube Litening Super HPC SLT – Di2 Dura-Ace 9070 groupset, Mavic R-Sys SLR wheels – €1300

The only hesitation I have with used bikes is that I’ve been burned before by a used (and unknowingly cracked) carbon frame, so I’m wary of going down that road again.

From what I’ve read, the Scott Addict 20 isn’t the most exciting ride, but it seems to have all the features I want: electronic shifting, reliable components, and a good frame for weekend centuries, local club rides, and 98% pavement use.

My main question: Is there a better new bike for around €2500 in Europe that I may have missed? Or is the Scott Addict 20 a solid deal at that price point?

Thanks a lot in advance for any input!
