We just finished our 5-day fat bikepacking trip along Oregon’s southern coast. Earlier this year, we toured the northern coast—so this is Part 2 of our attempt to fat bike the Oregon Coast Trail (OCT). I’m totally new to fat bikes, as of this year, and loving it so far!

A local buddy of mine, Jerry Gross, has ben riding fat bikes for years. Even though he has many bikes (mostly mountain bikes), he has 2 fat bikes and always said he would stick with a fat bike if he could only have one. This opened my eyes to the world of fat tires, including riding the sand dunes near us in Coos Bay. He has always wanted to try to fat bike the Oregon Coast Trail (OCT) as a lot of it goes on the beach. So, I got a fat bike and we gave it a spin! 🙂
