I’ve been wanting to get into biking for some time now. I had been researching bikes for the last month and deciding whether I wanted to get a used or new bike. I saw this on marketplace listed for $70 and it was nearby so I went and picked it up. I rode it back home and it was a smooth ride. It seems to be in fair condition but is there anything I should look out for on a used bike that could need some repairing before fully taking it out ?

General suggestion would be checking for any visible rust, as well as for any other kind of visible damage (dents, holes. etc.)

Most important thing safety-wise are probably brakes, so those being fine/in decent condition is what really matters imo

  2. Tyre pressures. Find out exactly what size and make your tyres are, along with how much you + the bike weigh and go online to find out EXACTLY what pressure to pump them to. Perhaps a good question to put to your favourite AI assistant of choice.

Wear shoes, put feet on pedals, make a circular movement and the thing underneath your ass will start moving forward.

Hard to tell from a non-drive side photo, but that bike looks really well maintained. But that price is suspiciously low. So I’d look closely at all the spots where the frame is welded together, just to make sure there are no cracks/fractures.
