This shimano crank arm fell off of my bike after a few minutes of riding it.
It's new, I used it the other day for around two hours straight with no problem and today it fell off. It's secured with a hex nut and I don't know how it came off. Question is, is it advisable to reinstall it and keep using it or will it end up wearing the spindle? The crankset is new and I don't want to replace it yet.

  1. BIke shop you bought it from didn’t tighten it enough. They should take it back or replace free.

  2. Don’t try it, it won’t stay on and there’s every chance it will damage the axle.

You can buy single crank arms for this exact situation so I’d suggest you do that.

Edit. As its a new bike take it back and demand they fix it as the bike was shoddily assembled. Also check all all the other bolts on the bike.

  3. It’s ruined, if it’s new from he shop, get to the shop, they did a mistake. Crank was loose.

Steel bottom bracket spindle wins over aluminum crank arms. Current scoring is 128,455-0.
