I have a star wrench, I’ve used it on my other bike no problem, but these bolts don’t like get tight, once they thread most of the way through it just spins and doesn’t really tighten. Am I doing something wrong? The other side is like weird and I can’t use a screwdriver to like hold it really.

there is a special little wrench that works on the backside of chainring bolts, they are cheap
You need this https://www.parktool.com/en-us/product/chainring-nut-wrench-cnw-2 Or buy chainring bolts that use hex on both sides

That looks like a torx bolt. From what I can see it’s a T30 size. Have a look on Amazon and buy a set of torx bits. As a previous poster said you’ll also need a chainring bolt spanner/tool which fits onto the back of the bolt to help you tighten it properly. It’s a flat tool with a 90 degree bend at one end with 3 prongs on it. One large one in the centre and 2 smaller on each side. Hope I’ve described it well enough for you to identify it when you see it.
That’s a torx bolt. T30 size. Torx bits are pretty cheap and you’ll get a set on amazon. As the other reply stated you’ll also want a chainring bolt tool which fits on the rear of the fastening. a wee flat tool with a 90 degree bend at the end and 3 prongs which fit into the recesses on the bolt. You’ll recognise it when you see it.
