Family members have paid tribute to 15-year-old Devon Simmons Canes, who tragically lost his life in a collision between a car and an electric bike in Middleton, Greater Manchester. Just before midday on Tuesday, July 22nd, a 59year-old man named Terrence King of Castler Drive in Middleton has been charged with murder and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Mchel Street Crown Court on Monday. Another 15year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft related to the same incident which occurred on Rora Crescent in the Langley estate. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries. Devon’s family expressed their heartbreak over his loss, describing him as an outgoing, bubbly person who only wanted the best for everyone around him. Tributes have been placed at the nearby Lakeland Court shopping precinct, including flowers, candles, balloons, stuffed toys, personal momentos, photos, and graffiti that reads Rick Devon. Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information and have warned that footage circulating online, claiming to show events before the crash is not linked to their investigation. Officers urged the public not to share this clip or speculate as the case remains active and Devon’s family is grieving. Devon’s family shared their memories, stating he always kept himself motivated even when he didn’t want to be and loved everyone that loved him.
