riders wanted to try and carry some speed into the pinch point. Oh, crash. Crash. One is down. One of the lead riders is down. I think that might be Bimo. And also down a couple of Canyon ShraMM riders. And uh one of the Liv Alula Jaco riders. That was a big crash into that turn. It was a pinch point. Also down is Latitia Patinosta of Livera Jaco. So let’s just take a little look. Is it Bamimo? That’s Balsamo, isn’t it? Felisa Balsamo who’s down by the looks of things. The ponytail hanging out the back. Balsamo. 3.1 kilometers of racing to go now on today’s stage. Anna Vanderen hits the front to keep out of trouble. She doesn’t want to get involved in anything that goes on. Where is the yellow jersey of Kim Laour? Because this front group is tiny right now. Oh, Demi Volering is down. Voling is on the deck and still hasn’t got up. Where’s the yellow jersey? Yellow jersey was also caught out. She didn’t come down. She managed to avoid it. Kim Lort. Oh, this is good news. Demi Voling has had a big crash in that section. Magdalene Valerius Mill is down as well. Was that the same crash that they went down on? It must have been. We’ve lost the yellow jersey now. Where is Mariana Voss as well? Only 2 and a half km to go. Can Dami Volering get back on her bike? She’s limping here. The team is worried. Yeah, they are. Of course they are. You see the way that she’s holding herself. If she wasn’t in pain, she’d be back up on her feet and and back on the bike. The only thing is we’ve got a 5 km rule. So right now any because she was caught up in the crash, any time that she’s lost, she’ll be given the same time as the group that she was in from the finish line, which is this main group. And so that’s precisely why that rule is there. Exactly. Exactly. And so had it been a 3 km rule as we normally have had in the past and because this 5 km rule is new on sprint stages, she’d be outside of that and you would be losing a big big chunk of time. But look what it’s done to the group here. This is a select group and so a number of sprinters aren’t here to contest and this is a a a very mixed group of riders. So, look, could be a bit of a surprise here with any riders. There’s so many riders who have been left behind. Let’s just take a look. Barbie is there. Weebis is there. Voss is there. And not too many others as we work our way in towards the race finish. 22 seconds to the yellow jersey group. Does that mean they’re going to be given the same time? We need to make sure as we see Allison Jackson up there as well. One kilometer of racing to go. [Music] There’s not many riders in here, so it looks like Weebis is for sure the race favorite, but Mariana Voss is getting ready. She moves up on the outside, squeezes onto the leadout train. Dami Voling is being pushed by Juliet Laboose and her other teammate Amber Crack into the race finish. This is not good news for Damy Volering. Not good news at all for a former winner of the tour to France, Fam Mavic Zift. She’s taken a very heavy fall. Only 600 m to go. What’s coming up? You’ve got the sweeping bend which is coming up. You’ve got the French champion who’s on the front. The world champion has Lorena Weeb is on the wheel. She’s being piloted forward. Still there is Cassie with the Polish champion, but she’s just wanting to keep herself out out of trouble. Voss in the green starts to move forward. Oh, that was almost a crash in the last 300 m. Now we gets ready. Also up there is Ali Wston of the team of FDJ Suez and Barbie is in there as well. The lead out now. Here goes Lena Weebis. She kicks hard. The furious sprints of the European champion. Boss is on her wheel, but Weebis is driving all the way to the finish line. There’s no doubt it’s going to be the European champion. Lorena Weebis wins a crash mod stage

  1. i didnt want to be to one to say, but sometimes watching the femmes tour looks similar to watching WNBA . So many mistakes happen that really could be avoided if only more technic were applied

  2. It is like a cat 5 race. In a big corner, if the outside cuts to the inside, the inside has nowhere to go, and half the field will go down. Every. Single. Time. And if you are riding on the inside, and you know that the outside will cut in and that you will be taken out, but you still ride the inside because you hope you will have room, you will be crashed. Sad, but basic.

  3. The equipment has increased the speeds beyond women's reaction time, which has remained the same. Like returning a well-placed serve from a carbon fiber tennis racket is impossible, so too is bicycle racing beyond human capabilities. The men will be soon be facing the same limitations.

  4. All the cavemen in the comments.. jeez. This kind of incident happens all the time in the world tour level men's field. It's a sketchy corner in the final kilometers of a sprint stage of a huge race. Sh1t gonna happen. I'd point the finger squarely at Balsamo dive bombing the corner (if that's who is lying on her side at 0:23), rather than throwing shade on the entire sport of women's cycling.

  5. The clip starts a bit to late. You see who I think is Megan Jastrab overtaking the peleton on the inside while the peleton was prepping for the corner. Her pushing in from the inside made one of the blue riders have to adjust and hit the wheel of one of the others taking everyone down. I don't see a problem with the corner, a bit closer to the finish you have one that is pretty similar and that gave no problem (for the admittedly much smaller group). This is like being behind a long haul truck that wants to turn right but moves to the left to get the turn angle and then instead of staying behind the truck you go alongside on the right causing the accident when the truck turns and runs your car over.

  6. Seems a Ceratizit rider lost her balance and crashes into Vollering of all people…
Doesn't look like one person is to blame but what a shame it would be if we don't get to see the Vollering – Niewiadoma duel unfold in the mountains because of a random crash.😲

  7. Would be better if the pinch point came significantly more before the right hand turn. Poor design of the course was a big factor in this crash. Is Demi out?

  8. They should enforce penalties to riders causing crashes that were avoidable. This one in F1 would be completely catalogued as divebombing, really unfair to other riders trying to take the corner as fast, but also AS SAFE as possible. This was not a high risk corner by all means, if no rider had divebombed fighting for a space that wasn´t there, everyone would have made it quite ok and the proof is that only TWO riders caused the whole domino effect.

  9. Much love I the back up for carressa for shield for my sharleen.delorse much love come oon come on for I leave you 76 year yall come on for I leave yall.self leave yyall
