I was inspired by a post I saw on here yesterday by to finally go out and get my own older road bike for commuting/generally looking cool on. I’m 6’2 so looking at mostly 57-59cm frames and have collected all of these as potential options.

I know everything about di2 and carbon but absolute jack about vintage bikes. Please enlighten me on which to stay away from and which I should go buy right now! Thanks!

  1. The schwinn Paramount “series” bikesbare neat. High end Japanese frames contract built by Panasoni with Tange tubing. I have the same bike, it’s a 92. I think it rides great, got it in the queue to build up again as a resto-mod with 10speed Ultrgra.

  2. I’m not familiar with the brand, but the Grandis looks the best, by far. It looks like a pretty high-end boutique brand, with Shimano 600 (ultegra) parts and a pretty nice looking frame.

After that, the Schwinn Paramount series, Trek, and Bianchi would be the next to consider. But the Grandis ranks above all.
