When I test my chain where there is 2 quick links ( I had to lengthen the chain) it indicates more than .75 wear. But at every other point I test it measures under .75.
Outer plates do not wear so the quick links are irrelevant. Besides that, chains do not “stretch” uniformly in all areas of the chain at the same time, so your gauge may measure differently at different portions of the chain.
The quick links may be a slightly different dimension than the other outer links of the chain. It shouldn’t significantly contribute to wear on the teeth until the rest of the chain starts to measure long.
